Hoochie Goochie Thearoochi MOMMA - Kangaroos Are Back At Elmington Park!
Super Saturday Includes Netball Clinic then Roos VS Bombers!
May 18, 2005
This Saturday - May 21, 2005 - The Nashville Kangaroos open their home season in Nashville against the Milwaukee Bombers. This an exciting time for the Kangaroos who were "Homeless" in 2004 - playing and struggling at several different locations. The Kangaroos have become one of the most feared road trips in the United States at the well known West End park. The Bombers are coming into the game confident with a 2-0 records against the Roos and finished the 2004 season with a top four national ranking. A loss to either team would make it very difficult to be in the MAAFL Championship running from here on in - so this game is where the rubber meets the road. The Kangaroos are lead by second year American Coach Bo Link and Captain Couragous Dee Vsetecka. These two national players will be backed up wth some great support from Roo veterans McCrostie, Fraser, Allan, Persson(s) and national team goal kicking sensation David Walker. This game should be a BEAUTY!!!

Super Saturday starts with our Lady Roos putting on a Netball Clinic at 2:30 p.m. This clinic is open to all newcomers (male and female) - and will be approximately an hour in length. If you still haven't heard - the Nashville now has an official Netball club and these Roo Girls are here to stay. Netball, which started as a derivative of US women's basketball, and was first played in England in 1895, is a sport that enjoys immense popularity in over 80 nations worldwide. It is an exciting, fast, skillful non-contact team sport that evolved in Great Britain and gained popularity first in the British Commonwealth countries such as Canada and the Caribbean and is now rapidly gaining popularity in the USA. In the US, Netball has affiliates and contacts in over 13 states.

Elmington Park is one of Nashville's great green spaces and wtih the $100,000.00 upgrade performed by Metro Parks last year - the field should be in tip-top shape for a great game of Australian Football. So pack up the family and your BBQ set, and head on down for a great afternoon of Aussie sports action!
