Hillsboro-West End Neighborhood National Night Out Against Crime celebration.

When the Hillsboro-West End Neighborhood Association contacted the Nashville Kangaroos to see about sharing Elmington Park on the evening of Tuesday August 3 to promote crime prevention for all the neighborhood members, the answer was a resounding, "Of course!"

The Nashville Kangaroos have been playing footy in Elmington Park since 1997, making 2010 our 14th year of calling Elmington our home ground. In that time, we have developed a deep appreciation for the value that Elmington brings to the city, to West End Middle School, and of course to the half a dozen neighborhood associations.

We have participated in tree trimming days, park clean up days, and Elmington was host to the Australian Festival for nearly a decade. And as recently as last year, we were a part of the West End Middle School's Fesival of Nations.

With this long history of being part of the community, it was truly a no brainer to choose to participate in this event.

Join us as we enjoy bluegrass music along with speakers and demonstrations from our Metro police and fire departments as we promote crime prevention in Nashville. It will be fun for kids with watermelon and ice cream, and includes watching the Nashville Kangaroos practice.
