Meet Our Sponsors: Exodus Health Center
We are always excited to welcome new sponsors to our family, and this year is no exception. With a special 'Good on ya, Mate' to Neil "Nizza" Cumming, this month we welcome our newest sponsor, Exodus Health Center. So we sent the Roving Roo Reporter to find out more.
Roving Roo Reporter: I am here with the founder of Exodus Health Center, Dr. Josh Axe. Josh, please tell us a little about how Exodus came to be.
Dr. Josh Axe: I founded Exodus about two and a half years ago, so we are pretty new. In my experience, a person's health is intimately tied to things like nutrition, physical care, and exercise. I wanted to practice in an environment that promoted this whole health approach, and now I can.
RRR: Interesting. Can you go into more detail on your philosophical approach to health care?
JA: The mission of Exodus Health Center is to save lives in Nashville and around the world. Our vision is to see a healthier Nashville by empowering people to make changes in their health and their life.
RRR: Aim high, of course. So how do you achieve your mission and vision?
JA: Sure. Our goal with all of our patients is to set them free from health problems and be able to live life to their full potential. Sometimes that requires traditional medical care like surgery, but equally if not more important are the other aspects of care. Our three main services attempt to meet this goal:
- Nutrition Counseling
- Alternative Care such as chiropractice, environmental detox, and
exercise, and
- Supporting the healing process
RRR: Sounds like quite the 21st century approach to health. Given that not everyone may know about this approach, how are you building your practice?
JA: I have a radio show that I do every Sunday from 6:00 - 9:00 pm, plus I am constantly doing community events and pod casts. It sure keeps me busy, but when you love what you do, it doesn't seem like work.
RRR: And how does all of this tie into sports?
JA: I played a lot of sports when I was growing up, and have been a big athletics fan as long as I can remember. I also have been able to keep myself healthy with diet, and the more I learned, the more this approach to being healthy made sense. So I now practice with much more of a whole health approach. Our clinic is pretty full, so we must be hitting the right nerve.
RRR: Good for you. And good for your patients! So how did you hear about the Kangaroos?
JA: I met Neil in the clinic and he started talking about Australian Football to me. I had heard of it previously but did not know very much about it.
RRR: And then Neil must have shamelessly asked you to sponsor the Kangaroos?
JA: Well, I am not sure it was shameless, given that I am a big sports fan and want to promote healthy behavior via exercise. It seemed like a great way to promote the values of our clinic - health through exercise.
RRR: Yes it does. So, have you seen a game yet?
JA: No, but I am excited to get out and see the Kangaroos.
RRR: Josh, we look forward having you at our home games, too. Thank you for your time today.
JA: My pleasure.
